The college is the only SCA Premier Training Campus in Hong Kong, which represents that the teaching environment and equipment are recognized by the standards. The European Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) has launched the new SCA Skills Diploma to further recognize the professional work skills of the coffee industry and provide in-depth knowledge and practical experience so that students can quickly adapt to the employment environment. The four new diplomas include SCA Café Diploma, SCA Roastery Diploma, SCA Sustainable Coffee Diploma, and SCA Coffee Trade Diploma. They require courses specified in seven major disciplines.
SCA Barista Skills will teach the operation of espresso machines, make espresso and extend all kinds of drinks, make dense milk bubbles and pull flowers, customer service, work and financial management, and make students become baristas in all aspects.
This course covers the practical skills required to operate a coffee bar, including setting up the grinder, milk whipping and latte art, health and safety standards, customer service and basic business practices.
