Our college is the only SCA Premier Training Campus in Hong Kong, which means that the teaching environment and equipment have been approved by the standards. The European Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) has launched the new SCA Skills Diploma to further recognize professional work skills in the coffee industry and provide in-depth knowledge and practical experience so that students can quickly adapt to the employment environment. The four new diplomas include SCA Café Diploma, SCA Roastery Diploma, SCA Sustainable Coffee Diploma, and SCA Coffee Trade Diploma, which require taking specified courses in seven major subjects.

The Water Quality and Preventive Maintenance Basics introductory course covers key concepts in water treatment systems and coffee machine preventive maintenance. The course also introduces certain practical skills required to safely apply this knowledge. By the end of the course, participants will be able to identify typical components, functions, effects, and maintenance of common water treatment systems; define critical water quality parameters and quality recommendations; demonstrate measurement of water quality components; describe the objectives of a preventive maintenance program; identify components requiring preventive maintenance in traditional espresso machines, batch brewers, and coffee grinders, and demonstrate simple steps to perform these tasks using the appropriate tools and supplies.
