Senses are an important foundation of coffee, so the Coffee Quality Institute (CQI) aims to enhance individuals’ ability to evaluate coffee. It has established Q Grader to establish international standards for the identification of specialty coffee and train related professionals. It also provides training and technical support to coffee producers and individuals or groups in the industry chain to promote the sustainable development of coffee, and to promote infrastructure construction in coffee-producing countries to improve coffee quality.
Q Grader is different from general certificate courses. It uses the most rigorous sensory testing system to taste and detect the value and flavor of coffee. It focuses more on coffee cupping, raw and cooked bean testing, coffee roasting testing and sensory evaluation. Therefore, it attaches great importance to the professional training of students. It is the golden key to enter the highest hall of the coffee field! At the same time, CQI also welcomes applications from the coffee industry and novices. Since it is about improving sensory abilities, it can also better test whether you have a golden tongue. As long as you follow the guidance of the instructor, many novices can take the pass!
Q-Grader is an internationally recognized coffee tasting standard. Coffee farmers, traders, coffee education and training institutions, baristas, etc. all use this standard to evaluate coffee quality. - Provide two days of preparatory classes (7+5 hours),One course, two certificates, give you SCA Sensory Foundation certificate and CQI Q Grader training guidance

1. Cupping Skills Test
Through cupping, we scored four categories of coffee (including washed, natural, and Asian,NoEurope), master the production areas, processing characteristics and scoring standards
2. Triangulation Skills Test
Use your sense of smell and taste to pick out a different cup of coffee from three cups under the rainbow light
3. Olfactory Skills Test
Based on the coffee aroma bottles, 36 aroma bottles are divided into groups, and throughTrain to identify different types of aromas and improve the ability to remember coffee aromas
4. Sensory Skills Test
Based on the water test, by tasting different types of flavors and different intensities, you can feel the differences between different flavors and how they match each other.

He founded Paul Kim Coffee Lab in Seoul in 2007, focusing on cupping, roasting and training consultants. He has served as a judge for various world-class barista competitions and is active in CQI's Coffee Corps Volunteer Program. He has provided Q certification training to the Philippine coffee producing community many times in the past 7 years and is preparing to establish his own coffee farm in the local area.
