Inclusion for the disabled | Collaborating with visually impaired baristas to teachLatte Art
As a social enterprise, inclusion of the disabled and able-bodied is one of our important concepts in giving back to the community. We hope to seize every opportunity to convey this message to the public.
Yesterday, I was very happy to be invited by the Hong Kong Blind Union to teach the visually impaired coffee master Zilang from Xiu Cafe, who I have been working with for a long time.Latte Art! A group of toy company employees full of childlike innocence, coupled with an environment decorated in dreamy pink and stylish dark, everyone enjoyed this relaxing atmosphere.
After Zilang shared the fun and challenges of being a barista, he taught us how to make coffee.Latte Art. At the end of the event, a visually impaired masseur was dispatched to bring the day to a perfect end.
Coffee is a drink that makes people feel happy and relaxed, and is undoubtedly an ideal medium to promote inclusion of the disabled and the healthy. Over a cup of coffee, people of different identities and backgrounds can sit together, share their stories and feelings, and build mutual trust and understanding. The differences between us become insignificant, while the connections and emotions become stronger. We hope to continue our efforts in society so that more people can feel this precious feeling.
